Learn More About DPC

The Direct Personal Care (DPC) membership is a new model in which patients pay flat monthly fees directly to their physician. This allows them access, without third-party insurance coverage for personal care services like exams and consultations – though some medications may still require prior approval from a provider before you can purchase it yourself! The nature of the doctor-patient relationship is changing as healthcare reform legislation eliminates “fee for service” incentives in personal care, instead encouraging more time spent on each patient’s experience. The DPC model provides individualized, affordable healthcare to all Americans. The founding principle of this system is that every person in America should be able and have access no matter their age or income level with the help from an experienced personal care physician at Open Water Medical Center.
Family physicians can no longer afford to take the easy way out. With a DPC practice, you can provide your patients with quality care without worrying about finances or insurance because it covers all costs included in this model!
“I’m not sure what I would do if my work were killing me.” That was how one frustrated doctor described his situation before discovering Docs Wantmore’s Contracted Provider Business (CPB) program, which allows him and other specialists like nurse practitioner assistants to focus less on billing and more time helping people get well. When affordable, this practice provides access to care for patients without financial barriers. Most people carry insurance that covers services not offered in their physician’s office, such as specialty care and hospitalizations; however, some may still face affordability issues due to the high cost of co-pays or deductibles. The doctor’s office can be a stressful place for people with high deductible plans, but personal care services are essential. This model was designed especially well to serve those who might otherwise have paid out of pocket before even considering preventive care like an annual physical or wellness check-up.

The DPC model is a structure to emphasize and prioritize the intrinsic power of relationships between patients and their family physicians to improve health outcomes and lower overall costs for medical care.
The DPC contract fee structure is a way for physicians to spend more time with their patients, and it doesn’t affect how much they are paid. The American Academy of Family Physicians advocates for the Advanced Personal Care functions and a blended payment method to help family medicine practices transition into this model. They provide resources, including CME credit, that will transform members with these capabilities while promoting Direct Personal Care as an innovative advanced practice approach.
